Description

A 12,720-square-foot castle on Lake Sahara has become Las Vegas's most talked-about listing. Owner Zoltan Bathory, guitarist for the heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch, teamed up with architect Michael Murphy of Blue Heron to reimagine a 17th-century castle with modern soul. The exterior carries an Old-World silhouette, while inside you'll find hand-crafted wood mosaic ceilings, limestone floors, cast stonework and details from a 15th-century French garden gate to a 400-year-old European fireplace.

Vesta Home translated the castle’s romance into artful interiors. Designer Sheri Zeller grounded the soaring great room with low white modular sofas, then contrasted that ease with slim iron-framed lounge chairs and the Bowery Slatted Coffee Table in dark walnut to add texture without adding weight. The cigar lounge leans darker with leather statement pieces, while the bedroom is soft with a low-profile, linen-dressed bed that blends naturally with the stone walls. Sheri kept the palette quiet so the architecture could lead, creating a home that honors its fortress-like bones while feeling attuned to contemporary living.
