Vesta designer Tiara Coughlan approached 23649 Malibu Colony Road with a single intention: to honour the home's effortless California cool while elevating every room into something worth stopping for.

Set behind a gated courtyard in the iconic Malibu Colony, this is a home with serious bones — a soaring double-height living room, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, French doors spilling out to a lagoon-style pool and a roof deck with peekaboo ocean views. Tiara's design brief was to let the architecture lead and the staging follow.

Warm, considered and deeply Californian in its sensibility, the staging layers natural textures and organic tones throughout — grounding the light-filled interiors with warmth and depth while keeping the palette clean and unfussy. Every room feels lived-in and intentional, from the fireside sitting area in the primary suite with its striking ebony slatted walls, to the dining area where a spoked chandelier anchors the space with just the right amount of drama.
