Vesta Home x Olive Ateliers blend the new with the nostalgic

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when opposites meet—when sleek modernity is softened by something storied, when clean lines are met with imperfect patinas. That was the vision behind the staging of 1682 San Onofre Drive, a newly completed architectural masterpiece in the heart of the Pacific Palisades Riviera.

A collaboration between Vesta Home and lifestyle brand Olive Ateliers, this home is a masterclass in contrast—sculptural modern furniture layered with antique pieces full of soul. It’s a dialogue between eras, where the past doesn’t compete with the present but rather enhances it.

A Coastal Contemporary Canvas

Spanning 10,413 square feet, this residence was designed by AMG Capital and Ortam Construction and is listed for $22,995,000. Positioned in the Palisades Riviera with unobstructed views of the Pacific and the city skyline, the architecture strikes a balance between formal simplicity and a relaxed, lived-in feel. Soaring ceilings, pocketing glass doors and strong geometric forms define the structure, while the layout flows between indoors and out.

The interiors speak to a coastal contemporary sensibility—natural materials, muted tones and a palette that connects to the landscape. Exposed wooden beams ground the open-plan spaces, while warm oak cabinetry, creamy plaster finishes and natural textiles bring a quintessential Californian feel. It’s a home designed for everyday use, where light and materials do most of the work.

And yet, it’s not just the scale or the setting that makes this home special—it’s the styling.

Vesta Home x Olive Ateliers: A Collaboration in Contrast

Vesta Home, a luxury design and furniture studio, brought clarity to the space—modern forms with weight and proportion, designed to showcase the architecture. Sofas are low and structured. Tables are solid and unfussy. Upholstery is soft but not showy. Every piece was chosen by Vesta designer Stephanie Antebi to be useful and feel collected, anchored by warm woods and linen upholstery with neutral tones.

Then came Olive Ateliers. Known for their globally sourced collections of vintage and antique Objects with Old Souls;  they brought contrast and soul to the new space.  A collection of unique vessels with perfect imperfections. Wooden benches that carry the marks of their makers.  A single oversized Greek Pithari Pot placed where it catches the morning light. Nothing feels overly styled; pieces are chosen not to fill space but to add presence.

The result is layered but not loud. The pairing of Vesta and Olive Ateliers grounds the home in something older and slower. Together, the two aesthetics complement and contrast each other. It’s a deliberate pairing: old and new, organic and refined, California light and European age.

This isn’t just about staging a home. It’s about giving it a rhythm—one that moves between past and present and brings out the best of both.

Designed to Be Lived In

At this level, scale matters. Large rooms, high ceilings and long sightlines ask for pieces that can hold their own, while creating a flow. Giving purpose to every corner. Making a brand-new house feel lived in.

At 1682 San Onofre Drive, each space was treated with the same care, whether it was a main living area or a tucked-away wellness room. The heart of the home is a kitchen made for gathering—open and functional, framed by Vesta Home’s Trias counter stools to highlight the wooden cabinetry and complete the marble island. From here, the layout flows into formal living spaces and out toward a covered dining area through oversized glass doors that disappear into the walls. The transition from indoor to outdoor is seamless, creating a natural extension of the home for entertaining, hosting or simply enjoying the view. Whether you’re seated at the kitchen island or relaxing in the living room, the feeling of connection to the space and landscape remains the same.

Upstairs, the primary suite is private and quiet, with standout ceramics and cozy upholstered sofas that lead out onto a private patio—an invitation to sit and stay a while. In a space defined by creamy neutrals and soft textures, we introduced contrast through our Sergio nightstands in a rich dark wood. Vesta’s  Beverlywood bed, upholstered in a creamy bouclé, adds warmth and comfort. Olive Ateliers layered in texture through statement planters, bringing in greenery and natural form that soften the architecture and add to the  sense of calm.

What sets a home like this apart is how every room is considered. In estates of this scale, it’s not just the great room or primary suite that defines the lifestyle—it’s the quiet office tucked upstairs, the home theater designed for evenings on Vesta’s Kennedy sofas or the custom pickleball court. Each area tells a story about how life can unfold here. The role of design is to bring those functions into focus.

Staging a home like 1682 San Onofre Drive is about building emotional connection—layering form with feeling. A single ceramic vessel or timeworn bench can shift the tone of an entire room. It reminds you that a home should feel collected over time, even if it's brand new.
