At 1705 Carla Ridge, the ethos is clear: let the surroundings lead. Perched on a promontory in Trousdale Estates, this $16.5M residence doesn’t fight for attention. It doesn’t need to. From the moment you pass through its olive-tree-lined driveway and 12-foot entry door, the home invites you to exhale.
Designed and developed by Oliver Mateen in collaboration with SR Interiors and staged by Vesta Home, the design draws inspiration from the soulful ease of Ibiza—filtered through the clarity of California modernism. It’s not minimalism for minimalism's sake, but a quiet confidence built on texture, proportion, and place.Vesta's luxury home staging leans into this intentional simplicity. Our Creative Director, Kiel Wuellner, layered in pieces that speak softly but carry presence: sculptural silhouettes, sun-washed fabrics, warm woods. In the living room, Vesta’s Alta Lounge Chair, wrapped in oatmeal linen, nestles beside a reclaimed Tooth Stool, while organic forms and low-slung seating encourage you to stay a while—or stretch out and lose track of time.
Everything here is in service of flow. Light moves unbothered from room to room. The dining space and living area are divided only by a sleek, double-sided fireplace. A library-like den opens effortlessly to the kitchen and terrace. The staging layout was conceived to emphasize the home’s natural rhythm—how one space gives way to the next, how the landscape pulls your eye outward. It’s a defining example of organic modern interiors: warm, open, and quietly luxurious.
In keeping with the Ibiza-inspired home design, the kitchen blends contemporary materials with organic accents. The wood-paneled cabinetry offers a warm contrast to the home's cool travertine and marble moments, while the layout embraces openness—a key principle in Mediterranean homes where cooking, gathering and living often overlap. We selected our Cozumel counter stools to complement this balance: their rope weave and ash wood build subtly nod to island textures.
The primary suite is defined by natural fabrics, earthy tones and high-end home furnishings. We layered a textured beige rug to echo the lime-washed walls, creating a tone-on-tone effect. Variations of warm beige—through bedding, upholstery and finishes—add dimension without disrupting the serenity.
Our Zenzy nightstands, with their wide drawers and mid-century profile, add structure while complementing the room’s sandy palette. A marble-framed fireplace anchors the space, and rather than let it sit alone, we framed it with two Coronado sofa chairs to create a cozy lounge nook with a view.
That’s what luxury home staging and interior design do when done right. They don’t cover or compete. They allow buyers to step inside and say, “Yes, this makes sense. I see how life could unfold here.”
This is what we do at Vesta Home. We collaborate with developers, architects and designers to complete the narrative of a home—bringing in furnishings that feel as inevitable as the space itself. With Carla Ridge, we were honored to partner with Oliver Matten and SR Interiors to complete a story that was already being beautifully told.
Because design isn’t just about what fills a room. It’s about what draws you in—and what keeps you there.
